PM MITRA Scheme: Kalaburagi Textile Park Blueprint Finalised

Key facts

• Karnataka has finalised the first-phase infrastructure blueprint and administrative framework for the mega textile park in Kalaburagi under the Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme.
• The state government earmarked ₹75 crore for the project in the 2026-27 budget, and the park is estimated to attract investments of over ₹1,800 crore.
• The first phase spans nearly 1,000 acres near Honna Kiranagi, Nadisinnur, and Firozabad villages and follows the "5F" vision: Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign.
• The project is expected to generate more than one lakh direct jobs and between two to three lakh indirect employment opportunities.
• The park is located in the Kalyana Karnataka region, comprising Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Bidar, and Vijayapura districts, and will feature a 2.5 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) with Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) technology.
