Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA) Announces Annual Awards and Fellowships

• Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA), established in 1953 under the Ministry of Culture, is India's apex national body for the performing arts.
• Seven personalities were selected as Akademi Fellows (Akademi Ratna): Ramlal Bareth, A.V. Anand, Rita Ganguly, Puru Dadheech, Chittaranjan Jyotishi, Pasumarthi Rattaiah Sarma, and Sudharani Raghupathy.
• The SNA fellowship is restricted to 40 members at any given time and carries a purse money of ₹3,00,000.
• 108 artists were selected for the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards (Akademi Puraskar) for 2024-25, which carries a prize of ₹1,00,000, a Tamrapatra, and an Angavastram.
• 106 young artists were selected for the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for 2024 and 2025, which carries a prize of ₹25,000, a Tamrapatra, and an Angavastram.
• The SNA Fellowship and Awards are conferred by the President of India, while the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar is conferred by the Chairman of the SNA.
