The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) appointed Alok Mittal, a 1993-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, as the Director General of BPR&D under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Amit Garg, a 1993-batch IPS officer from Andhra Pradesh, was appointed as the head of NCRB by temporary upgradation of the post to the Director General level.
