Clean Air, Healthy Delhi: ₹8,300 Crore Outlay for Air Pollution Combat

Key facts

• The Delhi government announced the "Clean Air, Healthy Delhi" project with a total outlay of ₹8,300 crore to combat air pollution.
• The funding for the project will be shared between the World Bank, providing 65 per cent, and the Delhi government, bearing 35 per cent.
• The programme is scheduled for implementation from September 2026 to August 2033 and supports the objectives of the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
• The project covers key pollution-contributing sectors including transport, road dust, construction and demolition waste, solid waste management, industries, green spaces, and water pollution.
• The programme will be jointly implemented by the Environment Department, Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), Transport Department, Public Works Department (PWD), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Delhi Jal Board (DJB), Delhi Development Authority (DDA), New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), and Delhi Traffic Police.
