Delhi Government Signs MoU for Rainwater Harvesting in 75 CM Shri Schools

• A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on July 10, 2026, at the Delhi Secretariat for a rainwater harvesting project in 75 CM Shri Schools across Delhi.
• The project is part of the ‘Catch the Rain’ initiative and involves Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the Directorate of Education, and Ehsaas NGO.
• The project will be implemented under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of IGL.
• The project includes the audit and restoration of existing rainwater harvesting systems and the installation of new rooftop rainwater harvesting systems.
• Water conservation and environmental awareness programmes will be organised for students and teachers as part of the initiative.
• The Delhi government aims to eventually expand the model to nearly 800 government schools to promote groundwater conservation.
