The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) launched a digital 'Local Pass' facility on its Rajmargyatra app for monthly toll travel.
The Local Pass is available for residents living within a 20-km radius of an eligible toll plaza and allows unlimited travel through that plaza for a month.
The digital process uses consent-based integration with DigiLocker and VAHAN to automatically retrieve verified address, vehicle number, and FASTag details.
The facility was first introduced at the Mundka-Bakkarwala Toll Plaza on the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) in Delhi.
NHAI plans to extend the digital Local Pass to other toll plazas across the country in the coming months.
