Modified UDAN Scheme: ₹28,840 Crore Outlay for Regional Aviation

• The Centre has earmarked ₹28,840 crore over the next 10 years for the modified Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) scheme to expand regional aviation.
• The UDAN scheme envisages the development of 100 aerodromes from existing unserved airstrips and the construction of 200 helipads.
• The UDAN scheme provides operational support for regional airports and continued viability gap funding for airlines.
• A 9 MMTPA greenfield integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex has been built in Balotra, Rajasthan, as a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) and the Rajasthan government at an investment of over ₹79,450 crore.
• The CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, developed under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), involves an investment of over ₹7,500 crore.
• The OSAT facility has an annual production capacity of up to 5 billion semiconductor chips.
• Phase II of the Jaipur Metro Rail Project, estimated to cost over ₹13,000 crore, features a 41-km north-south corridor with 36 stations connecting Prahladpura with Todi Mod.
• A new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport, built at a cost of ₹480 crore, is designed to handle up to 20 lakh passengers annually and aims for a 5-Star GRIHA rating.
• SJVN Ltd developed the 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Energy Project at an investment of around ₹5,500 crore, and NHPC developed the 300 MW Karnisar Bikaner Solar Energy Plant.
• The Churu-Sadulpur and Churu-Ratangarh rail doubling projects cover 104 km at a cost of around ₹900 crore, and the NH-125A Jodhpur Ring Road Section-II four-laning project cost approximately ₹740 crore.
