Key facts

The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) is establishing two Centres of Excellence for semiconductor skilling in Ahmedabad and Guwahati.
The Centres will provide training in OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) and ATMP (Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging) processes.
NIELIT has signed MoUs with Tata Electronics and Infineon for the Guwahati and Ahmedabad facilities respectively.
The initiative is part of the government's ISM 2.0 scheme, which has an outlay of approximately ₹1.28 lakh crore approved by the Cabinet.
