Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’s Scan and Register Service Crosses 25 Crore OPD Registrations

• The ABHA-based 'Scan and Register' service under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) has crossed 25 crore outpatient (OPD) registrations.
• The service, introduced in October 2022, is used by nearly four lakh patients daily.
• Patients scan a QR code at participating hospitals through an ABDM-enabled health app and share their ABHA-linked details with consent, reducing paperwork and waiting time.
• The facility is available in 30,800 healthcare facilities across 36 states and Union Territories and 756 districts, including over 24,000 government facilities and 6,400 private hospitals.
• Among states, Bihar recorded the highest digital OPD registrations with over 7.3 crore, followed by Uttar Pradesh (4.09 crore), Andhra Pradesh (3.38 crore), and Jammu & Kashmir (1.39 crore).
• AIIMS New Delhi recorded the highest number of Scan and Register transactions at over 54.29 lakh, followed by AIIMS Bhopal, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, AIIMS Patna, and AIIMS Raipur.
• The National Health Authority (NHA) said the service is operational across AIIMS, central and state government hospitals, medical colleges, district hospitals, ESIC and railway hospitals, and private healthcare facilities.
