Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) and NITI Aayog sign pact to advance multilingual AI for governance

• The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) under the Digital India Corporation and NITI Aayog signed a statement of intent (SoI) to collaborate on multilingual, voice-first AI solutions.
• The collaboration aims to integrate AI-powered language technologies across NITI Aayog's digital platforms and services under the BHASHINI for Seva/Sanchalan initiative.
• The partnership will enable multilingual access to NITI Aayog services through BHASHINI's language translation APIs and reference applications.
• The collaboration includes efforts under BHASHINI Udyat, BHASHINI Mitra, BHASHINI AppMitra, BHASHINI Sahayogi, and BHASHINI Pravakta.
• Through BHASHINI Sahayogi, the partnership will leverage BhashaDaan for collection, curation, and dissemination of linguistic data, with contributions of text, audio, and video samples from officials and citizens.
• The collaboration builds on NITI TARA (Toolkit for Analysis, Review and Action), which has conducted over 200 capacity-building sessions and empowered more than 4,000 district and block officials.
• The System for Meeting Recording, Information and Transcription Interface (SMRITI), developed with BHASHINI, automates meeting minutes and enables multilingual translation.
