IBM, MIT-Bengaluru and Christ University Partner to Establish AI Centres in India

Key facts

• IBM partnered with Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Bengaluru and CHRIST (Deemed to be University) to establish AI-focused centres in India.
• The IBM–MIT AI Lab at MIT Bengaluru houses a High-Performance Computing (HPC) facility powered by advanced GPU-enabled infrastructure capable of supporting 30 high-performance computing workloads simultaneously.
• The lab supports research in machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, computer vision, natural language processing, cybersecurity, healthcare, intelligent systems, and data analytics.
• Through IBM SkillsBuild, MIT Bengaluru will establish an AI Learning Initiative offering awareness workshops, bootcamps, hands-on training, and digital credentials.
• CHRIST (Deemed to be University) and IBM established the IBM Innovation Center for Artificial Intelligence, providing access to watsonx.ai, watsonx Orchestrate, and IBM Bob for building enterprise AI applications.
