The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch the EOS-05 (GISAT-1A) Earth observation satellite on September 4, 2026.
The satellite will be carried by the GSLV-F17 rocket from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
The lift-off is scheduled for 2:55 am IST and will be the 19th flight of the GSLV.
EOS-05 weighs 2,367 kilograms and is designed for high-resolution imaging of the Indian subcontinent.
Its near real-time imaging capability can help monitor cyclones, floods, forest fires and environmental changes.
The mission will provide continuity for the GISAT-1 capability, which was lost when GISAT-1 failed during launch in 2021.
