Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) authorises 1,800 km LPG pipeline network

• The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has authorised development of about 1,800 km of new LPG pipeline infrastructure with an estimated investment of about ₹7,000 crore.
• The new LPG pipeline network will pass through Telangana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, and Goa.
• The projects have been authorised for development by GAIL (India).
• Once commissioned, the additions will expand the PNGRB-authorised common carrier LPG pipeline network from around 7,700 km to nearly 9,500 km, an increase of nearly 23.5 per cent.
• The authorised network includes a 556 km pipeline from Cherlapally in Telangana to Nagpur in Maharashtra, a 633 km route from Shikrapur in Maharashtra to Goa and Hubli in Karnataka, and a 611 km line from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh to Sitarganj in Uttarakhand.
