RCF Kapurthala to Roll Out First 19-Coach LHB Rake for Bangladesh Railway on August 12, 2026

• India's Rail Coach Factory (RCF) Kapurthala will roll out its first 19-coach Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) rake for Bangladesh Railway on August 12, 2026.
• The rake is part of a 2024 order placed with RITES Limited for 200 broad-gauge passenger coaches in seven variants.
• The 19-coach rake includes three AC sleeper cars, three AC chair cars, 11 non-AC chair cars, and two power cars.
• The coaches feature reclining seats, integrated CCTV surveillance, a passenger alarm system, partially openable windows, a Baby Care Room, and a Prayer Room.
• The roof structure has been strengthened to withstand additional loading from passengers travelling on the roof during peak traffic.
• The coaches have a crashworthy design compliant with European Standard EN 15227 and operate on a 415 V electrical system instead of the conventional 750 V.
• Bangladesh Railway will induct 200 BG coaches into its fleet between June 2026 and December 2027.
• RITES Limited previously supplied 120 BG LHB coaches, 36 BG locomotives, and 10 meter gauge locomotives to Bangladesh Railway.
