- Steel Authority of India Limited’s (SAIL) Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) launched a CO₂ Dashboard for BSP and Chandrapur Ferro Alloy Plant (CFP), Chandrapur.
- The dashboard was inaugurated by Chittaranjan Mahapatra, Director I/c (BSP), on 18 August 2026.
- It was developed in collaboration with M/s Centra World, a consultant appointed by the Environment Management Division (EMD), Kolkata.
- The dashboard enables real-time tracking and management of carbon emissions across the enterprise.
- It provides accurate tracking and analysis of daily CO₂ emissions at both plant and individual shop levels, allowing prompt identification of anomalies and corrective measures.
- The platform assesses emissions according to the World Steel Association (WSA) methodology, the GHG Protocol, and the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
- It will help SAIL align with the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS) by monitoring emission-intensity targets and preparing for market mechanisms.
