Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Launches RSSDI Rural Outreach Digital Portal and VISHWAS Diabetes Awareness Video Library

• Union Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the RSSDI Diabetes Rural Outreach Digital Portal and launched VISHWAS, the Diabetes Awareness Video Library.
• The event was organised by the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) on Independence Day.
• The RSSDI Rural Outreach Programme and VISHWAS aim to take diabetes awareness, screening, treatment, follow-up and digital health resources closer to rural communities.
• The RSSDI Rural Outreach Programme has already reached around 30 villages across several States.
• The digital portal offers a standardised platform for beneficiary registration, treatment documentation, longitudinal follow-up, programme monitoring and generation of anonymised real-world data for public health planning and research.
• Dr. Jitendra Singh called for making preventive healthcare and diabetes prevention a national priority, noting that rural India is no longer untouched by the diabetes epidemic.
