Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) facilitates export of 18 MT certified ethnic rice from Tripura to Europe

• The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) facilitated the export of 18 metric tonnes of NPOP-certified ethnic rice from Tripura to Austria and the Netherlands.
• The consignment, flagged off on September 2, includes four rice varieties: Aromatic Kali Khasa, Aromatic Harinarayan, Biron (white sticky), and Maimi Hanga (black rice).
• The produce was aggregated from local Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) supported by the Tripura State Organic Farming Development Agency (TSOFDA).
• The export was handled by Sonepat-based exporter M/s Pratithi Organic Foods.
• The trade followed a Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet organized by APEDA in Tripura in August, linking local producers with overseas buyers.
• Participating farmers are projected to realize price gains of up to 40% compared to domestic market rates.
