India and Rwanda hold 2nd Joint Defence Cooperation Committee meeting on July 6-7, 2026

• The second Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC) meeting between India and Rwanda was held in New Delhi on July 6-7, 2026.
• The two nations decided to expand their partnership in the areas of military training, military exercises, medical cooperation, and defence industries.
• The meeting was co-chaired by Amitabh Prasad, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Defence (MoD), and Brig Gen Louis Kanobayier, Chief for Joint Force Development, Training and Doctrine.
• The Indian delegation included representatives from the Department of Defence, Department of Defence Production, Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Armed Forces Medical Services, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, and the Services.
• A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on defence cooperation was signed in July 2018 during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Rwanda.
