  • The existing Jalalabad Nagar Palika Parishad has been renamed as Parshurampuri Nagar Palika Parishad.
  • The renaming proposal received approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in August 2025.
  • The move is based on the belief that the town is the birthplace of Lord Parshuram, the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu.
