MoHUA Approves PARIVARTAN Scheme Guidelines with Rs 9,585 Crore Outlay for Cleaner Vehicles in NCR

• The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) approved the operational guidelines for the PARIVARTAN Scheme (Programme for Accelerated Renewal and Incentivization of Vehicle Assets for Reducing Transport Air Pollution and Network Emissions).
• The scheme has a total outlay of Rs 9,585 crore, including Rs 5,041 crore as budgetary support from the Central Government.
• It aims to replace old, polluting trucks and buses in the National Capital Region (NCR) with Bharat Stage (BS)-VI compliant or electric vehicles.
• The scheme was approved by the Union Cabinet on 3 June 2026.
• The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) will implement the scheme, funded through the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB).
• Incentives under the scheme include Motor Vehicle Tax concession, registration fee waiver, 5% interest subvention on vehicle loans, minimum 8% OEM discount, monthly fuel vouchers, and one-time financial assistance for electric vehicles.
