Acharya Ranchhodlal Goswami, an Ahmedabad-based Haveli Sangeet scholar, has been selected for the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2025.
The award was announced by the Sangeet Natak Akademi under the Union Ministry of Culture for the 2024-25 awards.
Haveli Sangeet is a devotional music tradition rooted in the Pushtimarg sect, which was established by Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya approximately 550 years ago.
Acharya Ranchhodlal Goswami has authored eight books and composed more than 22,000 devotional verses in Vrajbhasha, Gujarati, Sanskrit, Charani, Mewari, and Marwari.
The Haveli Sangeet tradition is active in the Indian states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Punjab.
