India and Armenia Sign MoU on Defence Research and Production on August 17, 2026

• India and Armenia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 17, 2026, in Yerevan to enhance cooperation in defence research, development, innovation and shared production.
• The MoU was signed during a meeting between India's Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Armenia's Minister of High Tech Industry Davit Tadevosyan.
• Defence Secretary Singh also met Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan in Yerevan on August 17, 2026, to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral defence cooperation.
• India's Ambassador to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha attended the meeting with the Armenian Defence Minister.
• Singh met Chief of General Staff of Armenia Lieutenant General Edvard Asryan, and both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen the India-Armenia defence partnership with focus on defence industrial cooperation and research and development.
• Earlier in 2026, Lieutenant General Edvard Asryan had visited New Delhi and met Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A P Singh to discuss bilateral defence cooperation.
