Airbus has awarded Mahindra Aerostructures a multi-year contract to manufacture and supply fuselage skins for A320neo and A321XLR aircraft.
The fuselage skins will be used for the rear fuselage and tail sections of the aircraft.
The components will be produced at Mahindra Aerostructures' Bengaluru facility and supplied to Airbus' manufacturing facility in Augsburg, Germany.
Deliveries are targeted to begin in 2028.
Initial engineering activities, including tooling design, process-flow updates, qualification and inspection, are already underway.
Mahindra Aerostructures has previously secured contracts to manufacture and assemble main fuselages for Airbus H125 and H130 helicopters.
