Aarogya Setu 2.0: Comprehensive Personal Health Record Platform

• Union Health Minister J P Nadda is set to launch Aarogya Setu 2.0, transforming the former COVID-19 contact-tracing application into a comprehensive personal health record platform.
• The platform is redesigned in line with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and leverages nearly 20 crore downloads to expand digital healthcare services.
• Users can create and manage Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) accounts, store health records, and use a 'scan and share' facility for digital registration at healthcare facilities.
• The application utilises artificial intelligence to digitise medical records from PDFs or images to create personalised health dashboards based on medical history.
• It supports monitoring of vital signs, medication reminders, and synchronisation with wearable devices for metrics such as steps, calories, heart rate, and blood glucose levels.
• A Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) wallet provides beneficiaries with details regarding healthcare coverage, expenditure, and family-wise utilisation.
• For personnel under the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) health scheme, the app displays policy details, covered family members, and reimbursement information.
• The application allows users to access private health insurance details, including wallet balances and claims.
• GPS-based location services enable users to search for nearby hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres, doctors, and PM-JAY empanelled hospitals.
• The platform integrates with e-RaktKosh for real-time blood unit availability and provides ambulance booking services.
• It includes family profile management for parents, spouses, and children, and a consent management system for sharing health data.
• The application was originally developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and later handed over to the National Health Authority (NHA).
