DRDO conducts successful qualification test for Gaganyaan Drogue Parachute

- The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) is celebrating a two-day PESA Mahotsav: Utsav Lok Sanskriti Ka on December 23 and 24 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
- The Mahotsav marks the anniversary of the Panchayats Extension to Scheduled Areas (PESA) Act, 1996, which empowers tribal communities by extending Panchayati Raj provisions to their scheduled lands.
- The objective is to spread awareness on the Act and improve capabilities of local bodies in Scheduled Areas.
- The parade showcased 30 tableaux: 17 from states and Union Territories, 13 from ministries, departments and services.
- The overarching themes are ‘Swatantrata ka Mantra: Vande Mataram’ and ‘Samriddhi ka Mantra: Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
- Assam’s tableau theme is ‘Asharikandi – Terracotta Craft Village of Assam’.
- Chhattisgarh’s tableau theme is ‘The Mantra of Freedom – Vande Mataram’.
- Gujarat’s tableau theme is ‘Mantra of Swadeshi – Self-Reliance – Freedom: Vande Mataram’.
- Himachal Pradesh’s tableau theme is ‘Dev Bhoomi, Veer Bhoomi’.
- Jammu and Kashmir’s tableau will display Handicrafts and Folk Dances of Jammu & Kashmir.
- Kerala’s tableau theme is ‘Water Metro & 100% Digital Literacy: Aatmanirbhar Kerala for Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
- Maharashtra’s tableau theme is ‘Ganeshotsav: A Symbol of Aatmanirbharta’.
